73Merlin Gurtiza, 74, of Honolulu, an IBM and city retiree, died at home. He was born in Makaweli, Kauai. He is survived by wife Karen S.; sons Guy and Grant; daughter Gay Tanap; brothers Sidney, Stanley and Rodney; sister Helen Takanishi; and four grandchildren. Visitation: 10 a.m. Friday at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, mauka chapel. Services: 11 a.m. Inurnment: 2 p.m. at Mililani Memorial Park. Casual attire. Flowers welcome.
