Ruth W. Hewes, 72, of Wahiawa, a former H&R Block tax preparer, died in Wahiawa. She was born in Waimea, Kauai. She is survived by son Dale Branson, daughter Teresa Canianes, sisters Frances McElroy and Patsy Richardson and four grandchildren. Private services.
