EDUARDO G. TOPENIO, SR. Eduardo G. Topenio, Sr. died peacefully on December 24, 2012 at the Kuakini Hospital Pulama Mau care home at age 80, surrounded by his loving wife, Constancia and family friends. Born in Camantiles, Urdaneta, Pangasinan, Philippines on October 3, 1932, he worked at various places including the Don the Beachcomber Hotel, Sheraton Waikiki, and eventually retiring as a cook from the State of Hawai'i O'ahu Community Correction Center in 1997. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roman and Maria Gayoso Topenio; Brothers Irenio Topenio, Rodolfo Topenio, and sister Carmelita Topenio Adorias. He is survived by his wife, Constancia Tablada Topenio of Honolulu; sons Edgar (Estrella) Topenio of San Jose, CA, Eddie (Sonia) Topenio of Lihu'e, Kaua'i; daughters Salome (Bonifacio) Alquiza of San Jose, CA, and Grace (Danilo) Mendoza of San Jose, CA; grandsons Marc Alquiza, Gary Topenio, Robert Topenio, Tyler Topenio; granddaughters Kimberly Topenio, Danielle Mendoza, Kayla Alquiza, and Lauren Mendoza; and brothers Florencio Topenio (Philippines) and Ablando (Aida) Topenio (Kona). Viewing will be held at the Hawaiian Memorial Park Chapel on Wednesday, January, 23, 2013. Visitation will start at 4:30 p.m. and service to follow at 6:00 p.m. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, January, 24, 2013 at the Co-Catherdral of St. Theresa Church (School Street). Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. with mass starting at 11:00 a.m., and burial to follow at the Valley of the Temple Cemetery in Kane'ohe. Co-Cathedral of St. Theresa and Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary assisted the Topenio Family with arrangements.
