Jack Marpel, 88, of Honolulu, a retired air traffic controller and a Navy veteran, died in Honolulu. He was born in Wisconsin. He is survived by son Edward; daughters Suzanne Soares, Sharlene Kim and Jayne Roberson; brother Jerome; sister Virginia Lyshek; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.
