Aloha to the Ching twins, Bernice (left) and Beatrice. BERNICE CHING CHONG 86, a Kailua homemaker and former office manager for Dr. George Newton, died in Kailua Jan. 12, surrounded by her loving family. Bernice's love of travel took her to exotic places around the world, but her favorite was Las Vegas to rendezvous with friends and family. She is survived by her husband Vernon; son Vern; daughters Susan and Lori; granddaughter KimberleeAnne; sisters Mabel and Alice; and brothers Percy and Ronald. Her twin sister Beatrice or "Bea" died in 2004. Bernice was also preceded in death by sisters Clara and Gladys; and brothers Terence, Harold and Chester. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 29 at Borthwick Mortuary. Friends may call after 10:30 a.m.; a brief service follows at 11 a.m.
