JOSEPH F. MARTINEZ Joseph F Martinez, best known as Joe Honolulu, passed away at his home in Everett, Washington on March 1, 2013.He was born in Honolulu to Lucea and the late Jose A. Martinez. He grew up in Kalihi Valley the eldest of seven children. After graduating from Farrington High he joined the Navy and served in Vietnam from June 1966 to September 1969. His last duty assignment was on the USS Hissem. He moved to Washington 17 years ago, immediately feeling at home. His true passion was motorcycles and was a member of NW Washington Victory Riders. He rode with anyone riding any make of motorcycle and always came home happy. He is survived by mother, Lucea; daughter, Dominique; son, Donovan; significant other of 21 years, Linda Strand; her son Shaun and family; and siblings, JoAnn Pagador, Beverly Glenn, Rudy Martinez, Marlyn Lewis, Shaleen Martinez, Arlene Martinez with their families and significant others. He never let cancer diminish living life to the fullest. His sense of humor and huge smile are memories we hold dear. Military honors were held at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) on Tuesday March 19th.
