Lawrence Dwight Kalani "Lanny" Awana, 70, of Waianae, a union steward for Local 7 of the Heat and Frost Insulators and FireStop Containment Workers union and an Army veteran, died in Aiea. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Donna B.; daughters Kirstin K. Awana, Kristine K. Awana Rutherford and Keola O. Awana-Scanlan; brothers Rodney Lam, Ben Awana and Leo Brown; sisters Josephine McEnroe, Judith Cline and Sandra Brown; and four grandchildren. Visitation: 5:30 p.m. Saturday at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, mauka chapel. Services: 6:30 p.m. Casual attire. No flowers. Canned food donations suggested to Nanakuli Food Bank at services.
