Walter Kauwilaokeahi Aona, 87, of Waianae, a Navy veteran who served in the Korean War, a retiree from the Naval Ammunition Depot at Lualualei and a Honolulu Police Department reserve police officer, died in Waianae. He was born in Wai-anae. He is survived by son Walter C.K., sister Elizabeth Short and a grandchild. Visitation: 6 p.m. Monday at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, mauka chapel. Services: 7:30 p.m. Additional services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Burial: 12:30 p.m. at Mililani Memorial Park. Aloha or casual attire. Lei welcome.
