79Gene Garvida Soliven, 61, of Waiehu, Maui, a retired bellman at Hyatt Regency on Maui, died at home. He was born in Bangui, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. He is survived by wife Angelita M.; son John; daughter Cherry Tom; brothers Ernesto Jr., Valemar "Boyet" and Ryan; sisters Cynthia Canlas, Nora Durago, Shiella Marilla, and Cholita and Marilyn Soliven; and six grandchildren.
