TOMMY CONNER Tommy Conner of Kailua, Hawaii passed away Thursday March 28, 2013 at the St Francis Hospice after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Tommy was born in Mountain View, Hawaii on November 24, 1944. A Honolulu Police Officer and later retired Captain with the Honolulu Fire Department Tommy was a legendary outrigger canoe paddler. Designer and builder of the oldest competitive single person outrigger canoe, 11 time repeat winner of the Molokai Hoe and coached many more crews to victory. He is survived by his wife Renée, his son Tai Conner, son and daughter in law Vaimana and Ashley Conner and their two daughters Leela and Kaila, son and daughter in law Kalena and Maile Conner and their three children Tua, Mahana and Emma, daughter and son in law Kanani and Ezra Rodrigues and their daughter Kamala, step daughter and son in law Kira and Jon Paul Kaloi and their daughter Delia, step daughter and son in law Jana and Kaipo Akaka and their son Taj. A celebration of life will be held April 21 at 10:00 am at Lanikai Community Park with a scattering of ashes and kanikapila following.
