83Ray S. Chinen, 91, of Wahiawa, a retired merchant seaman and an Army veteran who served in the 1399th Engineer Construction Battalion Company A during World War II, died in Wahiawa General Hospital. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by brothers George T., Ernest Z. and Benjamin Y.; sisters Mary K. Tokumoto, Alice M. Nakaguma, June F. Higa and Grace Y. Taba; and caregiver Rene.
