BLANCHE REIKO WATANABE
BLANCHE REIKO WATANABE Blanche Reiko Watanabe was born on December 20, 1930 in Lihue, Kauai. She was the only child born to Charles (father) and Chiyoe "Dorothy" (mother) Tsuda. After raising her children to a (relatively) self-sufficient age, she worked for the University of Hawaii in the Hamilton Library retiring after 24 years of service. When she joined her husband Harry in retirement in 1993, they traveled extensively around the world including North America, the Caribbean, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Asia. She passed away quietly in her sleep on March 2nd, 2013 to be reunited with her husband of 58 years. She is survived by her son Laren (Laura), her daughter Leane (Craig) Ziebell, grand- daughter Justyn and grandson Jeffrey. Beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, Blanche will be deeply missed. Visitation 9:30 a.m., Friday, May 10, 2013, at Borthwick Mortuary-Mauka Chapel. Memorial service 10:00 a.m. Committal service 1:00 p.m. at National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific at Punchbowl. Family requests no flowers.
