LORI MIYOKO SUYEOKA CHONG Age 87, went to heaven on March 10, 2013. Born in Lahaina, Maui. Retired pool office clerk at the Richard St. YWCA. She cherished and loved her dear friends from Lahainaluna High and the members and staff at the YWCA. She is survived by sons Wah Leong, Irey and Jerell Chong. Daughters Kalynn and Wendy Chong, Jann Choy. Grandsons Andrew (Summer) and Matthew Choy, Joshua and Jordan Chong. Private services held.

ROSEMARY TONGG CHUN
Mrs. Rosemary Tongg Chun, 87, left for heaven on April 13, 2013. She was the wife of Dr. K. B. Chun, well known forward thinking and successful dentist of Kailua who predeceased her by 18 years. Mrs. Chun was also the daughter of Richard C. Tongg, notable landscape architect and co-real estate developer with brother Ruddy Tongg during early and mid 20th century Honolulu. She was a student of Teacher’s College, a graduate of Roosevelt High School 1942, and Oberlin College 1946. She was born April 23, 1925 in Los Angeles, California while her father finished a project for prominent landowners in Santa Barbara. She returned to Honolulu in 1926 and enjoyed a wonderful childhood, married her college sweetheart, K. B. Chun of Honolulu after World War II and raised 5 children (Rosemary, Thurlow, Mark, Mitchell, Norman). Surviving her are her three remaining sons, Mark, Mitchell, and Norman, all dentists practicing in Kailua, three grandchildren, Courtney, Thurlow Jr. (Thurlow), and Ryan (Norman) Our Mom gave us and our father unconditional love and support through difficult and comfortable times. We will miss her more than dearly. She would wish that you remember her, and we request your presence to visit with our family at Community Church of Honolulu for A Day After Life services on Sunday, May 26, at 3:00 pm. Services will start at 4: 00 pm with special music performances. An early supper will be provided and can be taken home as well. In lieu of flowers, we request donations.

JOHN L. GILBERT Age 82 of Honolulu, HI, passed away May 17 in Honolulu. He was born in Brisbane, Australia. He spent his career in the reinsurance industry as President of John Gilbert Intermediary Group in NYC and previously Vice President at AIG in NYC. In Hawaii he served as President of the Australian American Chamber of Commerce and a board member of DTRIC Insurance, and he was a member of the Honolulu Lawn Bowls Club. He was an avid rugby player and life saver in his youth and a passionate world traveller throughout his life. He is survived by his wife Chizumi Gilbert of Honolulu, two sons Sean and Giles Gilbert of Massachusetts and New Jersey, two daughters Samantha Gilbert and Sydney Werner of NYC and Rhode Island, a sister Gloria Williams of Brisbane, Australia and eight grand- children. Funeral services Friday noon, Cathedral of Our Lady of Peace, 1184 Bishop St, Honolulu. No flower arrangements.

CHERRY LOU JEONG of Kailua, Hawaii, passed away May 13, 2013 in Queens Hospital. Born July 20, 1942 in Cleveland, Ohio. A 1960 graduate of Independence High and BA in 1964 from Otterbein College. Cherry was a retired elementary teacher with the State of Hawaii. She is survived by husband, David Jeong; son Trenton Jeong/wife Christal Jeong and granddaughters Riley and Haley. Cherry was the perfect, genteel, seraphic wife of 46 years. The world’s greatest mother, “Bestest Popo” and a true beacon of light in our lives and others. Visitations will begin 9am Saturday, (May 25) at Kailua United Methodist Church. Service at 11am with lunch to follow.
