Earle Jack Dye Jr., 72, of Kamuela, Hawaii, a retired Honolulu Police Department sergeant, director of security for Mauna Kea Beach Resort and a rancher, died. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by wife Gwen; sons Earle III, Kaipo and Beau; daughter Andrea Dye-Tupe; brother Kenneth; sister Carol Valant; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Celebration of life: 11 a.m. June 1 at Imiola Congregational Church. Private scattering of ashes to follow. Oahu services: 10 a.m. June 29 at Bishop Memorial Chapel, Kamehameha Schools campus.
