Sakae Tanaka, 87, of Laupahoehoe, Hawaii, proprietor of the former Seaside Service Station and a Laupahoehoe Sugar Co. automobile mechanic, died in Yukio Okutsu State Veterans Home. He was born in Laupahoehoe. He is survived by wife Shizue; daughters Renee Nishioku and Faith Gourley; brother George; sisters Masako Okamura, Bernice Tomiyama, Tsuyako Fujitani, Elsie Doherty and Carole Tsutsumi; and five grandchildren. Visitation: 9 a.m. Saturday at Dodo Mortuary. Services: 10 a.m. Casual attire. No flowers. No monetary offerings.
