Barbara Jean Marcum
BARBARA JEAN MARCUM Age 76 was born to Vincent and Rose Telles in Honolulu on Dec. 27, 1936 and passed away at home in Kaneohe on May 13, 2013. She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Ruford, her children Roland and Roxanne, and granddaughter Miranda Glenn. One of ten children, she is also survived by brothers Vincent Jr. (Nellie) Telles, Eugene (Oma) Telles, Felix (Sadie) Telles, Thomas Telles, Jonathan (Corynne) Telles and sisters Isabel Telles, Antoinette Hu, Margaret Telles and Veronica (Bob) Daniel as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. As a former owner with her husband of Duke Sales, a candle distribution company, she finally retired from General Wax and Candle Co. to enjoy her gardening and social life. She loved volunteering and was active in organizations throughout her life including the University Extension Homemakers, Ladies of Ho'onanea, Kokokahi YWCA, Girl Scouts, Our Lady of Good Counsel Senior's Group, and Sodality of Our Blessed Lady at St. John Vianney. Her creativity excelled in jewelry designing, wedding cake decorating, floral arranging and crafting. She will be dearly missed by her friends and family. A celebration of Barbara's life will be held Sat. June 22 at St. John Vianney Parish 920 Keolu Drive, Kailua. Visitation at 9:30 a.m. Eulogy at 10:45 a.m. Mass at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Catholic Food Pantries. Private interment at a later date.
