Henry G. “Zap” Zapata (CW02) US Army Retired Passed away November 29, 2012 at his home in Fircrest, WA. Formerly of Iliaina Street, Kailua, Zap was born July 15, 1931 in Corpus Christi, TX. He worked 44 years for the US government, serving 22 years with the US Army and 22 years at the Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard shop 06 as a crane maintenance supervisor. He is survived by his wife, Mary, stepmother, Tomasa Zapata of Corpus Christi, TX, four sons Henry Jr. of Long Beach, CA, Irwin, Joey and Ronnie Zapata, daughter Anuhea (Ricky) Daley of Fircrest, WA, three hanai daughters G. Kaui (Ben) Fernandez, L. Pinky (John) Kahaloa, and Bonnie-Lynn Versola, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Born in Honolulu, Hawaii on July 31, 1944, he graduated from Kalani High School and continued on to receive his Technical School Certificate in Auto Mechanics in 1964. He then moved to California, started a family and worked as an auto mechanic with Ford for 43 years. He enjoyed sports, playing cards and family, especially his grandsons, Logan and Nathanial. Eric is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Winona (Lum) Mitobe. Eric is survived by brothers, Kenneth (Karen), Leonard, sons Derick, Mark (Bill), daughter Tricia (Jason) and grandsons, Logan and Nathanial. RICHARD CLARENCE TOLLEFSEN Born March 28, 1943 in Kahuku, Hawaii-Died June 24, 2013 at his home in Provo, Utah of a heart attack. He was preceded in death by his parents Olaf Edward Tollefsen and Elizabeth Lane of Molokai, Hawaii, brother Olaf, and his first wife Jurate Ramonas Tollefsen Stage. He is survived by his wife Kathy Sorensen Brown Tollefsen, children, Luana Williams (Mike), Richard Takemoto, Teryl Soren, brothers, James and Stephen Tollefsen, and numerous nieces and nephews in Hawaii. He is also survived by Kathy’s children Sasha, Sean, Summer and Kuulei and 20 grandchildren all of whom loved him dearly and he loved them in return. Richard was a casualty of the terrible war of Vietnam. In the last twelve years of his life he found his Savior Jesus Christ which not only brought meaning to his life but peace to his soul. This enabled him to function in a readymade family with all the vicissitudes of life and find happiness. Funeral services will be held at the Provo Grandview 16th Ward, 1260 West 1150 North Provo, Utah on Monday, Jul 1, 2013, beginning with a viewing at 10AM to 10:45 followed by services at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at East Lawn Memorial Hills, at 4800 North 650 Provo, Utah. Arrangements by Berg Mortuary.
