SUSAN KIMIE MURAYAMA Age 67 of Kaimuki, HI, passed away at home in her sleep on July 14, 2013. Born April 20, 1946 in Lahaina, Maui to Edwin Takeshi and Shirley Sadako Murayama. Susan graduated from Kaimuki High School, Class of 1964, and received her Bachelor's and Master's from the University of Hawaii. She was a dedicated teacher at Kaimuki Middle School and Sylvan Learning Center, and previously at Aiea High School. She also owned and operated The Baby Place store in Manoa Marketplace. A tireless working mother with an upbeat and enthusiastic personality, she sent her two children to private school and college. She is survived by daughter and son Dawn and David Wakukawa; sister, Gayle Iizaki; brothers, Randolph and Curtis; and longtime companion Michael Murashige. Visitation will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 28 at Nuuanu Memorial Park, followed by funeral services at 4 p.m. Casual/Aloha attire.
