74Margaret Hilda Derasin "Pumpkin" Kahawai, 51, of Naalehu, Hawaii, a former pantry chef at the Hilo Hawaiian Hotel and the former Hilo Lagoon Hotel, and cook at the former B & E 76 in Naalehu, died in Liliha Health Care Center. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by son Almarich Ebanez; daughters Shawnette Esperanza, Chalyssa M. Kahawai, Breeann and Brandy Ebanez, and Cheyenne Leffew; parents Bill and Ella Derasin; brother Michael Derasin; sisters Elizabeth Derasin and Sharlene Decoito; and nine grandchildren. Visitation: 5 p.m. Friday at Dodo Mortuary, Hilo. Services: 6 p.m. Additional visitation 9 a.m. Saturday at Kauahaao Congregational Church, Waiohinu, Hawaii. Services: 10 a.m. Casual attire.
