ELLEN FUMIKO (IZUMI) HASEYAMA 89 of Honolulu, a retired dietary cook at Kaiser Permanente Moanalua, passed away on July 14, 2013 at the Care Center of Honolulu after a long illness. Born on February 27, 1924 at Waiakea Camp #3, Hilo, Hawaii to Seisuke and Matsu Izumi. She was predeceased by husband Don Hideo Haseyama (1978) and son Calvin Haseyama (1952). She is survived by daughters Joyce (Allyn) Lai, Joanne Haseyama, Frances (Melvin) Goo and Wendy Haseyama; grandchildren Scott Allin (Wendy) Lai, Carrie Ann (Marcus) Young, Justin, Jennifer and Jaycee Goo; two great-grandchildren Maya Lai and Isabella Young; brother Rikio (Miki) Izumi of Gardena, California, nieces and nephews. She enjoyed cooking and baking and is remembered for the many delicious recipes she brought to the table. She doted on her grandchildren and always prepared their favorite dishes. Her culinary skills were curtailed after being afflicted with Parkinson’s Disease. Visitation: 5 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at Hosoi Garden Mortuary, services at 6 p.m. Casual attire.
