FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

Ernest A. Salomone
ERNEST A. SALOMONE Nov 1st, 1931 July 27th, 2013 Ernest A. "Ernie" Salomone passed peacefully into the arms of God in the early hours of July 27th at Island Hospice, Honolulu. Ernie was one of the lucky few who had the opportunity to live a quality life for the 4 years after receiving a diagnosis of liver cancer. Ernie was a true San Francisco native, growing up in Noe Valley then later in the Parkside. After graduating from S. I., Ernie joined the Air Force spending 2 1/2 years in active duty after which he returned to study business at USF. On May 31st, 1959 Ernie moved to Honolulu exchanging one type of island life for another. It was the clear blue waters and ample sunshine, the antithesis to San Francisco weather, that drew him to Oahu. After short time of running a business for his father who lived state side Ernie went to work for the U.S. Navy at Pearl Harbor retiring after 27 1/2 years of service. He cherished his retirement years fulling them with both leisure and travel. Ernie is survived by his younger brother Guido Salomone, his paternal Aunt Margaret Cleary, and many cousins in the U.S., Canada, and Italy; and also many friends in Honolulu in particular Sam Vani, Maggie Caldwell, and the gang from the Wailana. The family requests condolence gifts be sent to either The Cancer Society or St Peter and Paul Church 800 Kaheka Street Honolulu, Hawaii 96814. Visitation will be at Saint Peter and Paul Church Thursday the 8th of August at 830AM. Memorial Service to follow at 930AM.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
