FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

MITSUKO (OHYE) YANO
YANO, MITSUKO (OHYE) Age 90, of Pittsburgh, PA, passed away peacefully at Forbes Hospice on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. She was born on March 5, 1923, in Kure-City, Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. She was married to Dr. Katsuhiko Yano for 62 years. They were long-time residents of Honolulu, HI, before relocating to Pittsburgh in 2010. Mitsuko was a Japanese school teacher in Honolulu and had many friends there. She loved to travel and created beautiful works of art in paintings on silk, embroidery, leather craft, and beaded jewelry. The youngest of eight siblings, she is survived by her husband, Katsuhiko; two daughters, Yuko Palesch of Charleston, SC, and Reiko Becker of Pittsburgh; a brother, Jinichi Ohye of Tokyo, Japan; and a sister, Kazuko Saito of Kure, Japan. She also is survived by three grandchildren, Amy Palesch of Atlanta, GA, Seth Palesch of Portland, OR, and Nicholas Becker of Pittsburgh. Professional Services by D'Alessandro Funeral Home & Crematory Ltd., Pittsburgh, PA. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made out to Forbes Health Foundation at Forbes Hospice, c/o Forbes Health Foundation, 2570 Haymaker Road, Monroeville, PA 15146. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
