Carole Ann Avilla Burgess, 72, of Honolulu, a Veterans Administration secretary and an Army veteran, died at home. She was born in Honolulu. She is survived by son Brian A.; daughters Cindy M., Lucille A. and Bonny T.; brothers Harry, William, Gary, Blaine and Robbie Avilla; sister Cheryl Avilla; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
