FRANCIS K.W. CHING

FRANCIS K.W. CHING 75, passed away on July 25, 2013 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born on July 31, 1937 in Lihue, Francis is the son of former Kaua’i mayor Francis Ching and Ruth Aki. Francis made many contributions to the Hawaiian community, most notably founding the Archeological Research Center Hawaii in 1973. He is a retired Hawaiian Resource Specialist at Kamehameha Schools and an Ali’i in the Royal Order of Kamehameha I. Francis is survived by his daughter Brooke Ching; grandchildren Gidian and Eden Fain, Lirael Moser; sisters Sheilah Kui Len Ching, Rowena Kui Low; family members Addie, Garrett and Grant Carpio; and many other family and friends. Francis will be remembered at 2:45 PM on Sunday, August 11th at The Kamehameha Schools Bishop Memorial Chapel. Aloha attire.
