CARL JOSEPH ROSSETTI July 28, 2013 Born in Hillsdale, Michigan on April 6, 1926, to Carl Marcelo Rossetti and Genevieve Flora (Bongfiglio) Rossetti. Carl is survived by his devoted wife of 36 years, Gloria (Aguilar) Rossetti, children Farran F., Carlene A., Jacqueline L., Carl J., Julio F. Pinell, Martha A. Diel, Roger J. Pinell, sister Rosalie Searle, 17 Grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by son German A. Pinell and brother John Rossetti. Carl attended Hillsdale High School in 1942, Western Michigan University in 1945, and Columbia University BSME in 1946. Post graduate studies were completed at the University of Hawaii Advanced Management Program in 1962 and George Washington University in 1964. Included in his lifetime achievements: Administrative Assistant DPWO Pearl Harbor 1946-1951, Auto Transportation Specialist DPWO Pearl Harbor 1951-1953. Vice-President of Rossetti Bros. Construction Co. 1953-1958. Director of Transportation Equipment Management Center, Naval Facilities Engineering Command 1958-1991. He served in the Active Duty and the USNR during World War II, and the Korean War. He was awarded the Victory Medal for his service during World War II, retiring as a Lt. Commander in 1979. During his Federal Civil Service, Carl was named Federal Employee of the Year in 1963, Navy Federal Executive of the Year 1969 and Federal Manager/Supervisor of the Year, Naval Base Pearl Harbor in 1985. He retired from Federal Civil Service in 1991, and was awarded the Meritorious Civil Service Award by the Department of the Navy for his skillful leadership, personal integrity, dedication and outstanding achievements. Carl also participated in his community as President of the West Honolulu Little League 1962-1964, President Hawaii Section, Society of Automotive Engineers 1964-1966. He served on the Board of Directors for Aloha Week Hawaii, 1964-1996, President 1969, Director Emeritus 1996-Present. Director and Past President of the Foster Village Community Association 1958-1962. Board of Director Colonnade on the Greens 2007-2013. Carl was a member of the Elks Club and the American Legion. He was a member of St. Philomena’s Church from 1976, and was honored as an Island Treasure of Hawaii in 2005. He enjoyed sports, golfing, music and dancing.
