WAYNE HANSEN Wayne S. Hansen, age 100, died peacefully on January 1, 2013 in San Leandro, CA. Born May 8, 1912, in Dayton, CA, he joined the Navy in 1940, was a surgeon for 32 years, retired at Pearl Harbor as a captain in 1973 and then worked as a medical consultant for the state of Hawaii. Wayne’s wife, Kitty, a US Navy Nurse, died in l996. He is survived by sons Wayne Jr., Christian and Marshall and daughters April and Kit Kwan. He sang in the choir at Saint Andrew’s Cathedral, Honolulu and was interred there June 20, 2013.
