William Lowthian Stern, 96, of Kaaawa, a retired Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard machinist and Shipyard Naval Supply Department equipment specialist, died in Ewa Beach. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by sons Gary, William Jr. and Gier K.; daughters Pauahi Cockett, Sandra Barney and Anela Shimizu; 14 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Visitation: 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary. Services: 9:30 a.m. Burial: 11 a.m. at Hawaiian Memorial Park. No monetary offerings. Donations suggested to St. Francis Hospice.
