FAMILY PLACED OBITUARY

LARRY SHINYE MIYASHIRO
LARRY SHINYE MIYASHIRO Larry Shinye "Shangy" Miyashiro, 86, of Alameda, Calif., passed away at home on July 19, 2013. He was born in Honolulu on Feb. 11, 1927. A 1945 McKinley High School graduate, he spent two years in the Army before earning a BS from the University of Hawaii in 1951. During his 38 years as a civil engineer for Caltrans, he built bridges and overpasses all over the Golden State. He enjoyed fishing, travel, the Oakland Raiders and A's, and spending time with his family. We will miss his kind, warm spirit but are left with many happy memories of camping trips, bear encounters, baseball games, and his fish stories. He is survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Margaret; sons Paul (Vickie) and Les (Becky); daughters Laryne "Rynie" (Mike Quan) and Marla (Bruce Tompkins); sisters Flo Hamamura and Gladys Oshiro; sister-in-law Helen Miyashiro; and grandchildren Eric, Ryan, Jennifer, and Lauren. Private services were held on Aug. 13 at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific. Donations suggested to your favorite charity.

Our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased
