He was born in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. He is survived by wife Romula M. "Romy," son Ruben, daughters Marlyn Hutton and Melanie Vazquez, brother Alexander, sister Estefania Joson and four grandchildren. Visitation: 5:30 p.m. Friday at Hawaiian Memorial Park Mortuary.
