73Viola Kanakaole Chung-Hoon Chaffin, 89, of Pahala, Hawaii, a senior companion for Hawaii County and an Army Air Corps civilian employee, died at her son's residence. She was born in Hono-lulu. She is survived by sons Kenneth, Dennis and Timothy; brother Paul Chung-Hoon; sisters Marie Cadena, Ernestine Kenny and Betty Townsend; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Visitation: 8:30 a.m. Oct. 5 at Pahala Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Mass: 10 a.m. Casual attire. No flowers. Donations suggested to American Cancer Society or Hospice of Hawaii.
