Carol Vandermyden, 43, of Captain Cook, Hawaii, co-owner of Oven & Butter and a former mortgage broker, died in Kona Community Hospital. She was born in Mather, Calif. She is survived by husband Steve; sons Dakota, Maverick and Caymen Clark; stepdaughters Kirstyn Langley, and Shawna and Stephanie VanDermyden; mother Ellen Larson; and sisters Julie Cruz, Dianna Blair, Jean Larson and Genevieve Nagasawa.
