ELEANOR SIN YIN LEN
ELEANOR SIN YIN LEN Eleanor Sin Yin Len, born on Christmas Day, 1935, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 19, 2013. She was the daughter of Lawrence and Mau Yun Len, who predeceased her. She leaves her older sister, Asoong Len Elliott (Rogers), two younger brothers, Norman S.H. Len (Ruby), and Raymond C.Y. Len (Nancy), a niece, Noreen, and nephews Matthew, Joshua, Patrick, Peter and Jason, as well as great-nieces Sophie, Cydney and Cammie and a great-nephew, Christopher. She attended Kamehameha III School in Lahaina, Robert Louis Stevenson Intermediate School, and Roosevelt High School. She received a B.Ed. from the University of Hawaii in 1957, a M.A. in Counseling from Teacher's College in Columbia University in 1958 and a Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from Arizona State University in 1979. During her teaching career she taught math and did counseling at Battle Hill Jr. H.S. in White Plains, N.Y., Kapaa H.S. on Kauai, Leilehua H.S. in Wahiawa, and Roosevelt H.S. She joined the Career Services Department at U.H. in 1968 and was Director from 1988 to 2000, when she retired. Eleanor was a friend who gave and received great love and loyalty. She was the heart and soul of her family. We all miss her very much. She was a dedicated volunteer and supporter of the Sacred Heart Church, 1701 Wilder Ave., where services will take place on Friday, Nov. 8th. Visitation is at 9:00 am, with services at 10:30 am. Casual attire. Please no monetary gifts nor flowers. Burial will be at Hawaiian Memorial Park in Kaneohe at 2 pm.
