DAVID DANIEL SOUZA SR. “SOUZAMAN”
11-10  DAVID SOUZA SR.DAVID DANIEL SOUZA SR. SOUZAMAN David Daniel Souza Sr. "SouzaMan", 66 of Wahiawa, passed peacefully on November 1, 2013. He was born on Jan. 24, 1947 in Waimea, Kauai to Joaquin Souza Jr. & Mercy Rivera. His family moved to O'ahu when he was 12 years old. He attended Fern Elementary and Kalakaua Intermediate schools. He later moved to Ka'a'awa, where he attended Kahuku High School. At the age of 18, he joined the army and served two terms in Vietnam from 1966-1968. He was a devoted patriot who loved his country. David left the Army in 1969 a decorated E-6 with multiple medals. David was employed at various places. In 1973, he began his career with the City & County of Honolulu Road Division. He worked at Kaneohe for many years before moving to Waialua when he was promoted to the position of Road Construction Maintenance Supervisor II. He retired in 2005. David had a deep respect for the land and the ocean. He taught his children to live off the land by hunting and diving. David's life long passion for hunting, took him to adventure beyond the state of Hawai'i to the mainland, Australia and finally fulfilling his dream hunt in Africa. David was a devoted and avid supporter of The Pig Hunters Association of O'ahu where he was a board member for many years. David was a proud member of the motorcycle club "Satan's Brigade" for many years. He held various positions including President. David loved riding his Harley Davidson around the island as well as the outer islands to support other motorcycle clubs. He was a loyal fan and supporter of the Pittsburg Steelers Football Team. He enjoyed razzing his sons and brother religiously as they did not share his love for his team. David lived in Pahrump, NV for 4 years, where he enjoyed road trips with his younger brother and family. He loved traveling to other states as he visited various National Monuments and other places. David's deepest passion was shown by his love and devotion to his family and friends. He was a generous, kind, selfless, loving man who always put the needs of others before his own. He survived by wife: Betty Ann. Companion: Bobbie. Sons: Denton (Jean), David "Dovey" (Sitka), Donald "Kanoe" (Billie Jo), Delwin "Squeaky" (Corrina) and Dominic "Munsta" (Rosetta). Daughter: Davenette "Sweetheart". Brothers: Joaquin III (Abby), Michael (Ixchelle) Kealoha and Lawrence Kealoha. Sister: Frances Vierra. 27 grandchildren, and 15 great grand children. Countless nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Moanalua Morturary. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Casual Attire. Flowers welcome.
