11-17 ROBERT CLANCEYROBERT JOHN CLANCEY Born in North Quincy Massachusetts and grew up there and graduated from North Quincy High School. Joined the Navy in January of 1942 and saw action in the North Atlantic and the South Pacific. Honorably Discharged from the Navy in July of 1947. Moved to California in February of 1948. Subsequently moved to Hawaii In January of 1951. Started a manufacturing business and was a manufacturer’s representative, and import business in March of 1953. The business, Robert J. Clancey Ltd. was incorporated in 1959 and continues under his family’s management today. Member of Kaneohe Yacht Club, Oahu Country Club, and Outrigger Canoe Club. Survived by sons, John, Robert, Daniel and Humberto Clancey; daughters, Shannon Clancey Tuinei and Thais Ocando-Bravo; pre deceased by son, James Michael Clancey; grandchildren James, Joesph, Taylor, Emily, Edward, and Asher Clancey. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Anthony’s Church and School. 11-17 ROBERT SHORTY HAYSROBERT SHORTY HAYS Robert Arthur Hays, known as “Shorty” Hays, age 84, passed away peacefully on October 30, 2013. He was born May 12, 1929 in Dallas, Texas, and later moved to Hawaii as a child with his family. He attended Lincoln school in 1941, moved on to Roosevelt High School, where he excelled in track and sports, and graduated in 1945. Then he attended the University of Hawaii and graduated there in 1957. He also served in the Army during the Korean War, was on the Army boxing team, and later retired as a major. He worked for Pan American Airlines for 29 years, was a regular at the Outrigger Canoe Club, and bowled with the Pan AM bowling team. He is survived by his two brothers, William and Richard Hays, son Troy Hays wife Maria, son Sean Hays, daughter Kimberly Case husband Jim, daughter Robin HaysVelasco husband Pedro. Grandchildren Martha, Natalie, Kristina, Troy, Andrew, Noelani, Nathaniel, Rylee, Isabella, and Christopher, and great grandchildren Stacey and Malia. Private services.

11-17 DR. FREDERICK M. K. LAM B&WDR. FREDERICK M. K. LAM 90 years young, passed away peacefully at his home in Manoa, on November 8, 2013. He was a lifetime resident of Honolulu and a physician for 64 years and founder with his father Dr. Fred K. Lam, of the Lam Clinic. Dr. Lam graduated from Punahou School in 1941 and received a BS degree from Hamilton College in 1945. He graduated from St. Louis Medical School in 1947 while in Military Service. He was a life time member of the American Academy of Family Practice. In 1974 he got his degree in Acupuncture and began the remainder of his life’s passion for Bio-Energetic Medicine. He was a pioneer in this field and lectured at seminars in Hawaii, U.S. and Taiwan, he published many papers on the subject. By employing Bio-Energetic medicine he was able to treat the cause and not just the symptoms, while diagnosing diseases. Dr. Lam had many interests and hobbies. He was a renowned Ham Radio operator, trainer of Champion obedience Welsh Corgis and an accomplished in ballroom dancing and loved golf. Dr. Lam is survived by his sister Genevieve Fraiman and by three of his children. Frederick Guy Lam, Connie Clapp and Brenda Lam, five grandchildren and five great granddaughters. He is predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Marie and his daughter Devona Weirich. Services will be held at Bothwick Morturay, November 21, 2013, in the Maunakea Chapel. Visitation starts at 11:00 am with the service to follow at 12:00.
