SAMUEL TORRES Sam Torres was a golf lover, skilled storyteller and hospitality worker extraordinaire. He was born on June 19, 1949 in 'Ola'a, Hawaii. His parents Primitivo and Dionicia migrated from Ilocos Sur in the Philippines to build a better life for their family. He was the youngest of seven siblings including Dr. Ignacio Torres, Natividad Lagaso, Pacita Delos Reyes, Cila Harp, Ignacia Craddock and Dr. Mariano Torres; and uncle to 16 nieces and nephews. Sam graduated from Kailua High School and attended UH Manoa. He was a bartender and server at the Oahu Country Club. Sam passed away on December 11 at his home in Makiki surrounded by family. His memorial service is on Friday, December 27, at Borthwick Mortuary - 4:30 Visitation, 5:30 Service.
