BETTY F. HIGA 95, of Honolulu died Wednesday, December 18, 2013 at Aloha Nursing Rehab Centre. Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Valley of the Temples in Kaneohe, HI. The family requests that casual attire be worn and flowers be omitted. Betty was born in Kilauea, Kauai. She is survived by two sons, Alvin K. of Honolulu, Gerald M. and wife, Brenda, of Morgantown, WV; three daughters, Patricia H. of Oak Park, CA, Victoria M. of San Diego, CA, and Valerie T. of Kirkland, WA; three brothers, Takeo and Tadashi Hirakawa of Kauai and George 'Rocky' Hirakawa of CA ; and one sister, Mrs. Kame (Asayo) Nishihara of Kauai. Betty retired in March 1984 after 20 years of service in the Pantry Department at the Ilikai Hotel.
