Gene Kaleialoha Kahala, 59, of Burien, Wash., formerly of Kahana Valley, a former nursery associate, died in Burien. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by hanai mother Emily “Manu” Lono; brothers Hiram “Malo” III, Moses “Mahi,” Ervin “Anagin,” Duke and Alex “Kanoe”; sisters Princess “Aka” Kahala, Queenie “Bella” Carter and Dutchess “Ipo” Malepe; and hanai sister Leslie Traya. Celebration of life: 9 a.m. Saturday at Kahana Valley State Park. Services: 11 a.m. Scattering of ashes: 2 p.m. at Kahana Valley Mountain. Casual attire. Flowers and lei welcome.
