ALLEN DAT CHO CHUN
ALLEN DAT CHO CHUN Our beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather and great- grandfather passed away Feb. 10, 2014, at the age of 90. The third child and first son, Allen was a kind man with a gentle, loving spirit and contagious smile. He was a gentleman - always gracious, welcoming, inclusive and generous. A Farrington High School graduate, Allen worked as a painter for his father. In 1945, he volunteered for the U.S. Army, and for nearly 18 months was stationed in Yokohama, Japan. Upon his return to the Islands, Allen served as a painter for the Federal Government, and rose through the ranks to later become a paint supervisor in charge of Public Works Center Paint Shop. In his retired years, Allen enjoyed spending time with his family, traveling, playing volleyball, golfing, reading his favorite Western novels and was an active member of Kau Tom Post American Legion and Farrington High School Alumni, class of 1941. Allen is survived by wife Martha; sons Randall (Cheryl) and Eldon (Brad); daughter Allene (Raymond) ; brother Wallace (Theresa); grandsons Holo and Ala; grand- daughters Haku, Alana and Haunuu; great-grandson Cody; granddogs Mana, Nahe and Kea; and great-granddog Oreo. Taoist funeral service at Diamond Head Memorial Park on Friday, March 21, 2014. Visitation 9:30 a.m. Services 10:30 a.m. Burial noon at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park.
