3-16 SHARON YOSHIURASHARON SACHIKO YOSHIURA Beloved Sharon Sachiko Yoshiura passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2014. Sharon was born on July 22, 1949, the third of four children and attended St. Andrew’s Priory and the University of Hawaii, earning a Master’s Degree in English. She was also awarded a Rotary Club scholarship to travel abroad, studying in Frieberg, Germany for one year. Sharon was a dedicated employee and member advocate at HMSA for 33 years and an active member of the Lion’s Club. Hawaiian at heart, she was a student of hula, and cherished her kumu and the hula family of Aunty Maiki Aiu. She most enjoyed her vast backyard garden sanctuary where she planted native plants, working with her hands, and sitting under her favorite tree. Sharon is survived by husband Glen, and sons Blake and Daniel. She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Dorothy Matsuura and Takeshi Matsuura, and brother, Alan Matsuura. A celebration of life will take place at Nu’uanu Memorial Park & Mortuary on Saturday March 22, 2014. Visitation at 4 p.m. Service at 5 p.m. Aloha attire.
