80Violet Fernandez Ma‘e, 97, of Hilo, a retired classroom cleaner at Waiakea High School, died at home. She was born in Paia, Maui. She is survived by son Ronald Monteiro; daughter Joyce Branco; brother Lawrence Fernandez; sisters Roselyn Victorine, Amy Butler and Shirley Kealoha; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. Visitation: 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Hilo Stake Center, 1373 Kilauea Ave. Services: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at Homelani Memorial Park, section four.
