RUPERTA G. DE LA CRUZ 91, of Waialua, a remarkable and beloved individual, passed away peacefully on March 11 at home in Whitmore. Born April 14, 1922, in Pasuquin, Ilocos Norte, Philippines. She worked at Dole and Del Monte Pineapple companies and served as a foster care parent. Member of the United Vintarinians of Hawaii. She is survived by sons Santiago (Charlene) Valdez, Michael Valdez, Absalon (Linda) Valdez; Jose Rick de la Cruz; daughters Ely (Alejandro) V. Bolosan, Asuncion Valdez, Erlinda (Virgilio) Francisco, Norma (Randall) Kop and Nora de la Cruz; 28 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and loving caregivers Eva Bantolina and Rose Chavez. Mrs. de la Cruz's life will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at Mililani Mortuary-Waipio, Mauka Chapel. Visitation 9:00 a.m. Service 10 a.m. Burial 11 a.m. with lunch to follow. Casual attire.
