Rita Helen Sarme, 74, of Papaikou, Hawaii, a homemaker and a Women's Army Corps veteran, died in Hospice of Hilo Pohai Malama Facility. She was born in Hilo. She is survived by husband Manuel "Manning"; sons Alvin "Bino" Owens-Sarme and Manuel, James and Wayne Sarme; daughter Vanessa; brother Charles Rosa; and sisters Lucille Foster, Dorothy Rosa and Shirley Legaspi; 18 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Visitation: 5 p.m. Monday at Dodo Mortuary. Services: 7 p.m. Additional visitation: 8 a.m. Tuesday at the mortuary. Services: 10 a.m. Burial to follow at East Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.
