Robert Stephan Hines, 87, of Honolulu, a retired dean of the College of Arts and Humanities at the University of Hawaii at Manoa and a Navy veteran who served in World War II, died in Honolulu. He was born in Kingston, N.Y. He is survived by numerous nephews and nieces. Celebration of life: 5 p.m. Sunday at Orvis Auditorium, University of Hawaii at Manoa. In lieu of flowers, donations suggested to Mae Z. Orvis Opera Studio of Hawaii Opera Theatre, St. Augustine by the Sea or Island Hospice.
