SUSAN R ALLARD TANABE 67, of Honolulu, passed away on April 17, 2014 surrounded by friends and family. Susan was born on October 6, 1946, in San Gabriel, California and spent her entire life giving to others, as a loving mother, wife, friend, grandmother, and teacher. Susan put her Hawaii roots down as a young teenager, graduated from Radford High school, and loved living and traveling all over the world. She is survived by her ex-husband George Tanabe, children Grant Tanabe, Brian (Julie) Tanabe, and Kathryn (Anthony Brown) Tanabe and 5 grandchildren (Jim, Jorrie, Gage, Nikki, and Kai). Susan's passion for teaching spanned her whole life and her teaching career includes St Andrews Priory, Mid Pacific Institute, and Farrington High School. Susan is preceded in death by her mother, Jane Allard, and survived by father Paul Allard (Marie) and brothers Terry (Bev) Allard and David (Cindy) Allard. Services will be held on May 17th at Oahu Mortuary. Services begin at 10am.
