Yoshiyuki Sumida
May 25, 2014 Yoshiyuki Sumida, 96, of Pahala, Hawaii, a retired cultivation clerk for Hawaiian Agricultural Co., an Army veteran who served in the 100th Infantry Battalion Company A and F during World War II, and a recipient of the Congressional Gold Medal and Purple Heart, died. He was born in Pahala. He is survived by daughters Rena Mae Sumida Kobayashi and Mary Lou Sumida, sisters Sueko Kaneshiro and Jean Kawachi, caregivers Armando and Cathy Tabile, and a grandchild. Visitation: 9 a.m. Thursday at Dodo Mortuary, Hilo. Services: 10:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Hawaii Veterans Cemetery No. 2. Casual attire.
