Lohekamakaula "Lohe" Kaaloa, 74, of Hilo, a farmer, a masonry contractor, an executive assistant to former Mayor Stephen Yamashiro and a Marine Corps veteran, died at home. He was born in Honolulu. He is survived by son Lohekamakaula S. "Lohe"; brothers Edward and John; sisters Mary Mendiola, Haaheo Gilman and Wanda Jean Reyes; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Celebration of life: 9 a.m. Friday at Uncle Robert's Awa Club in Kaimu, Kalapana. Casual attire. No flowers.
