SACHIE YAMAUCHI JONES Age 90, of Kailua, Hawaii passed away at home on June 5, 2014. She was born in Pahoa, Hawaii on September 14, 1923 to Motojiro and Itoe (Araki) Yamauchi. She fought a long battle with dementia since being diagnosed with the illness in 1993. Sachie was a graduate of Hilo High, Class of 1942. After taking some evening business and typing courses, she was employed by the Aiea Naval Hospital on Oahu where she met her future husband, Charles. After her marriage and move to California, she also worked for Blue Cross and Orange County Library. When her husband was asked to return to open State Farm Insurance in Hawaii, she became his secretary for 18 years. She enjoyed many trips to the mainland and other countries. Her favorite was taking a cruise ship joining her many friends and making new ones. She was one of 9 children and is survived by sisters Yachie Motobu of San Diego and Chizuku Nakamura of Ewa Beach, her husband Charles and sons Dr. Lloyd (Janet Smith) Jones and Harold "Hal" (Lana Yong) Jones; 8 grand- children and 17 great-grand- children; caregiver Dianna Kardos and her children. Everywhere she went, people loved her. She never gossiped or said bad things of others and lived her Christian Belief. Services will be held at Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary- Chapel of the Flowers at 2233 Nuuanu Avenue, Honolulu, HI 96817 on Saturday, June 21, 2014. Visitation begins at 9:15 a.m. with service at 9:45 a.m., private entombment to follow. Aloha attire. In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to: Global Hope Network International c/o Charles R.
