MIKE Y. MIURA
6-13 MIKE Y. MIURA b&WMIKE Y. MIURA Mike Y. Miura, 82 of Aiea crossed over June 1, 2014 at Pali Momi Medical Center. He was born in Wahiawa, and is the retired Head Highways Design Engineer for the State of Hawaii. He is survived by wife Janet; sons Kurtis (Karen) and Dr. Kyle (Jon), grand- children Kasen and Kaleb; brother Christopher and sister June Morioka; brother-in-law Ernest Fukusaki and sister-in- law Helene Fukusaki. He is an alumni of UH Manoa and Northwestern University, and is a former instructor at the UH School of Engineering Continuing Education. He also worked for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, CA State Division of Highways, U.S. Navy Public Works Pearl Harbor, and Wilson Okamoto & Associates. He volunteered with numerous organizations such as Aiea Neighborhood Bd; tax-aide AARP; HI Bd of Engineers, Architects & Surveyors; U.S. Navy Environmental Restoration Advisory Bd Pearl Harbor; HI Bd of Plumbers & Electricians; trustee State of HI Retirement System; U.S. Selective Service System Local Draft Bd; former steward and president scientific and professional unit 13 HGEA, Democratic Party of HI, HI Dept of Education Central School Council, Governor's Advisory Committee for Management of HI Coastal Zone, and numerous other organizations. Visitation 5 p.m. on Thursday (June 26, 2014) at Nuuanu Memorial Park & Mortuary, service 6 p.m. Committal service 9:30 a.m. on Friday (June 27, 2014) at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl). Casual attire. No flowers.
