SAM OLIVA HO'OLULU Was born on April 9, 1946 in Kailua and died peacefully on June 18, 2014 at Castle Medical Center. Sam was a beloved Father, Papa, brother, uncle, coach and a treasured friend to many. Sam is survived by his son Kainoa, daughter Kimberly, daughter-in-law Melissa, grand -children Kamaki, Kalani, Kaia, Stone and Zachary; sister Liz Evangelista and brothers Harry, Ernest, Andrew and Richard. Sam was a longtime paddler for the Kailua Canoe Club, an avid volleyball and softball player, and he loved to play golf. Family and friends meant everything to Sam. He is also survived by Patty O'Hara, Sharon O'Hara-Katres, George and Susie Akimo, and many nieces and nephews. A celebration of Sam's live will be held at 9 AM on Saturday, July 12 at Kailua Beach Park, where his ashes will be scattered in Kailua Bay.
