Phyllis was born on October 5th, 1937 in Honolulu, Hawaii. Her parents are William and Ada Lim. In the 1970's she owned a jewelry store called Jenco Jades next to her parent's Three Coins Restaurant in Wahiawa. Phyllis lived a very full life and enjoyed playing tennis with Wallace Kau, bowling, ballroom dancing, poker, Scrabble, Angry Birds, shopping, and dinner and movie nights with her son Colin Kau. Phyllis lived in Salem, Oregon for several years with her daughter Jennifer Huppert. Her favorite destination was Las Vegas where she would play blackjack and the slot machines. She loved animals and would feed and adopt many homeless cats throughout her life. She enjoyed working as a nanny and took care of those children like they were her own. Phyllis found out that she had pancreatic cancer two years ago. She fought a very hard battle and remained optimistic until the very end. Jennifer provided the best care for her during that time. She will be sorely missed by Jennifer, Colin, her best friend Nona and all of her family and friends including her loving rabbits Thumper and Misha and adorable cats Bit Bit, Furball, and Little Dude. A celebration of her life will be held at 11am on Saturday, August 2nd at the Moanalua Mortuary Chapel. Please email Colin if you plan to attend. colinkau@hotmail.com
